Art Card - 4"x6" - Pacific Sea Nettle (Blackwater)

The Pacific sea nettle is my favourite species of jellyfish. Shot at Point Piños, Monterey, CA. amongst a massive ‘smack’ of jellyfish migrating through a kelp forest over 50 feet deep. This individual’s tentacles trailed behind for over 5 feet; not surprisingly my hands suspiciously started to sting moments after taking this shot, and lingered during my visit to the Monterey Bay Aquarium later that afternoon. Watching these creatures in an aquarium exhibit simply does not compare to the experience of swimming with them, but the sting is certainly something I could have done without!

This card is 4”x6” in size.

Art cards come sealed in a cellophane sleeve to protect from smudges and fingerprints. Each card comes with an appropriately sized envelope for shipping or hand delivery. Minimal ornamentation inspired by local marine life is featured on the inside of each card.

In addition to the common and latin names of the animals featured, the the time and location of the photograph are featured on the back of the card.
