Art Card - 6"x4” - Pacific sea nettle (Sun)

It should come as no surprise that the Pacific Sea Nettle is a favourite of mine. This individual jelly is particularly special, as it is the first sea nettle I had ever seen in the wild. This species is actually quite rare in the the Salish Sea, adding to the excitement of the encounter. I long for the day I may get to swim with a sea nettle once more. This encounter was in Royal Bay, Esquimalt BC. This species of jellyfish is particularly rare in our area; they are typically considered to be an open ocean species that seldom concerns itself with inland waters, however the strong currents of the Haro Strait carry them into the Salish Sea on occasion. This individual was lucky to make it this far without any injuries.

This card is 6”x4” in size.

Art cards come sealed in a cellophane sleeve to protect from smudges and fingerprints. Each card comes with an appropriately sized envelope for shipping or hand delivery. Minimal ornamentation inspired by local marine life is featured on the inside of each card.

In addition to the common and latin names of the animals featured, the the time and location of the photograph are featured on the back of the card.
