Art Card - 4"x6" - Opalescent Nudibranch

$6.00

————————————

The Opalescent nudibranch has only recently been discovered to be two separate species, one unique to California and the other belonging to Oregon, Washington, and Canadian waters. The two species are virtually indistinguishable, leaving naturalists to identify this species by checking where it was sighted on the globe. This animal was sighted at Island View Beach, Central Saanich, BC. riding a strong current running over a lush bed of eelgrass. Seeing this animal riding currents is a rare sight; an event spanning several days that I have witnessed only once in my six years of diving.
