The floral pattern emblazoned on the back of our sand dollars brings to mind the cathartic rumbling of the west coast surf. Many of us have spent hours combing beaches in search of sand dollars to take home with us. Now we can leave those shells where they belong, and instead feature their image on our belongings.

I encountered this Eccentric sand dollar on a warm afternoon walk on Saratoga Beach, south of Campbell River, B.C.
