Embroidered Patch - Grunt Sculpin - 4.5"
———————————
Among the many creatures inhabiting the waters of the Pacific Northwest, the grunt sculpin stands out in its own peculiar way. Small and often overlooked, it’s a fish that seems assembled from spare parts—part crab, part goblin, part grump. But what it lacks in size, it more than makes up for in character. With its stiff-legged scuttle and habit of wedging itself into empty barnacle shells, the grunt sculpin is a perfect example of the region’s more eccentric marine life.
This sticker is inspired by a photo of a Grunt sculpin I had taken at the Discovery Passage Aquarium in Campbell River, B.C.
