Ochre stars are true gems of the Pacific Northwest, clinging to rocks and tidal surfaces with their tube feet and playing a vital role in maintaining the ecological balance of coastal ecosystems. These creatures have been an icon to every visitor and resident of our coastline since time immemorial.

This patch is inspired by a particularly large Ochre star I encountered at Big Beach in Ucluelet, B.C.
