Adorable? Mysterious? Magnificent? There is an endless list of words that one might use to describe the Sea angel. These creatures spend their days fluttering just underneath the surface of the sea, hunting small creatures called pteropods. Looks can be deceiving however, as this charming little creature is a vicious predator.
I encountered this Sea angel drifting along the popular Argonaut Wharf dive site in Campbell River, B.C. This individual was one of the largest I had seen, while still only being slightly longer than an inch.
